Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m with family and just spent the entire day with my niece. She’s five. We played many, many rounds of the Pretty Pretty Princess game, then ran around like loons at a playground.

Hope those that celebrated had a good day, and those that didn’t… still had a good day. 🙂 I’m grateful for any day I can spend with the people I care about.

Just to recap, I have book give-aways for Close Quarter over at Kids, Coffee, & Chaos and Kay Berrisford’s Blog. I’ll be running these through Sunday, since I’m currently on the road. Please feel free to comment over at either or both blogs.

Also, I’m hosting Jessica Freely in celebration of her latest release, His Own Devices. She’s giving away one of her backlist titles to a commenter until Sunday.

And I’m hosting Kay Berrisford in celebration of her latest release, Simon, Sex, and the Solstice Stone. She’s also giving away a backlist title to a commenter, also until Sunday.

So lots going on, this Turkey-day weekend! Feel free to wander around this weekend to these different giveaways. 😀 What’s better than a free book?

Good Reads from fellow SHU WPFers

Second, three other ladies I know Seton Hill’s Writing Popular Fiction MFA program (from which I graduated) have books that have just come out or are coming out from Loose Id. I wanted to share the two that have been released with you. These ladies are wonderful writers and it’s been neat to watch all of our books appear in the Coming Soon section of the web site, then, one by one, get released.

Levade

First to be released was Evey Bret‘s Levade,  a sequel to her book Capriole.

Felipe’s world is shattered when he receives word his lover Lukas is dead, presumably swept away at sea. Grieving, he struggles to control the psychic gifts he was born with and trains to become a Warden—someone who hunts incubi and protects their sexually voracious half-human offspring. Despite erotic temptation and misadventure, Felipe never loses hope of reuniting with the man he truly loves.

Aided by Lukas’s herd of Lipizzans, Felipe learns that Lukas is alive and initiates a rescue. Their reunion does not go well. Lukas can’t remember Felipe nor can he answer questions about where he’s been. Despite Felipe’s repeated seduction attempts, Lukas’s condition deteriorates until he’s more horse than man.

Heartbroken, Felipe is afraid that unless Lukas can come to terms with the devastating truth of who—and what—he is their love will be lost forever.

Blood Bound and Beautiful

Next to be released was Kierstin Cherry’s Blood Bound and Beautiful.

Returning to reclaim her vampyric kingdom, the exiled queen Vladja is determined to defeat her usurper brother, Decai, and his unliving forces at any cost. Before she can claim sovereignty, Vladja must first solve the dark riddle of the Throne of Bone. When the riddle demands she forsake and betray her human lover, a Lady who wields the hand of a god, Vladja is torn between duty and desire.

The more she tries to stay away from the Lady Grace, the more she wants her. With their passions flaring out of control and Decai’s forces bearing down upon them, Vladja and her Lady embark on a desperate plan to unleash their passions upon the Throne and break its power once and for all. But will their love and lust prove strong enough to defeat the ancient dark magics or will the Throne of Bone consume them with the deadly power of the Marrowing?

If you hop on over to Jessica Freely‘s blog before November 13th, you have a chance to win a copy of Blood Bound and Beautiful.

His Own Devices

Speaking of Jessica Freely, in slightly more than two weeks (on November 20th), her novel, His Own Devices, will be released. More on that later!
